Work here
if you mean it.

We hire about one person every nine months. The bar is high, the projects are good, and you get a seat at the table from day one. No standups before noon. No bullshit performance reviews.

§ 01 — What you get

The deal, in plain English.

01 / Pay

Top of band, paid in your currency.

We benchmark to the 75th percentile of the market we hire from, and review every 12 months. No haggling.

02 / Time

32 days off. Fridays are short.

Four weeks paid + public holidays + the week between Christmas and New Year. Half-day Fridays, year-round.

03 / Equipment

Tools you actually want.

Mac of choice, $1,200/yr peripherals budget, IDE/license budget, a real chair if you ask for one.

04 / Learning

$3,000 a year, no approvals.

Books, courses, conferences. Spend it on what makes you sharper. We keep no receipts.

05 / Health

Insurance everywhere.

Private health, dental, mental-health support. Wherever you are, we'll find a plan that works.

06 / Retreat

One week, all-expenses, in March.

We pick somewhere with bad wifi on purpose. Last year: a riad in Chefchaouen. This year: TBD.

Staff Engineer
Backend & Infra

Remote Full-time Senior · Staff

The job

You'll be technical lead on two of our four current products — including DocEngine. Your week is split between design reviews, codebase surgery, and unblocking 2-3 engineers. You write code roughly 50% of the time and you'd like to keep it that way.

You probably have

  • 8+ years shipping production software, half of that on a team you helped build
  • Deep comfort with at least one of: Rust, Go, TypeScript on Node
  • Have run things on AWS or GCP under real load — know what an SLO is and have written one
  • Strong opinions on Postgres, observability, and "boring tech"

Comp

$160k–$210k base depending on location, plus profit-share (last year: ~12%). We pay in your currency and don't change pay if you move countries.

Designer

Remote Full-time Senior

The job

You'll lead design on 2-3 client engagements at any given time, working alongside one engineer and one strategist. We don't separate "UX" from "UI" — you do both, and you commit to GitHub. If you only do Figma, we're probably not the team.

You probably have

  • 6+ years on shipped products, ideally a mix of B2B and consumer
  • Confident in HTML/CSS — you can tweak a Tailwind theme without asking an engineer
  • A real point of view on type, density, and motion. Examples we can look at.
  • Calm in client rooms. We send designers in alone all the time.

Comp

$130k–$170k base plus profit-share. Same deal everywhere.

§ 03 — Hiring process

Four conversations. No tricks.

01 / Week 1

Intro chat

30 min. Mostly us answering your questions. We send the prep doc beforehand.

02 / Week 1–2

Take-home (paid)

A 4-hour problem from real client work, shape of your choosing. We pay $400. No bait code.

03 / Week 2

Deep-dive

90 min. Two of us, walking through your take-home and your past work. Conversation, not interrogation.

04 / Week 3

Founder + offer

Coffee with a founder. Decision within 48 hours either way. References after offer, not before.

Don't see your role?

If you're great at what you do and you'd like to work with us, send us something. A side project, a write-up, an email that isn't generic. We answer everyone within ten days.
